African Cucumis:
The roots and fruits of the wild African cucumis contain Cucurbitacins, a very bitter principle. Some pharmacological actions of Cucurbitacins: -
1. Cucurbitacins relieve liver damage (ethno-botanical data).
2. Promote body immunity (ethno-botanical data).
3. Are anti-carcinogenic (ethno botanical and anecdotal data).

The African Cucumis is favoured by African herbal doctors for its curative properties and rapid results. It is widely used for acute liver disorders, hepatocirrhosis, hepatitis, chronic gonorrhoea and has strong anti-inflammatory properties.

Due to its detoxifying and nourishing of the liver together with promoting body immunity, LiverMax has an invigorating effect on the whole body. This action is further strengthened by its anti-parasitical properties (in-vitro data). To regard LiverMax as an herbal supplement is underestimating the true value of this product. Preparation: LiverMax is made from the root of the African Cucumis sp. Each capsule contains 280 mg African Cucumis sp, 20 mg Echinacea Purpurea, 30 mg enzymes and 3 mg Magnesium Stearate. LiverMax is free from artificial preservatives, chemicals, sugar, corn, dairy, sodium & alcohol.

Dosage and Directions for use: 2 to 3 capsules daily, ½ hour before meals with a full glass of water. Do not take LiverMax with hot beverages (see insert for children’s dosage).

Recommendation: for best results in the treatment of acute and chronic conditions of the liver, Digestive Tonic (Momordica balsamina L.) should be taken together with LiverMax.

Contra Indications: Patients with a hypersensitivity to any of the plant species or ingredients. Overdosing will cause diarrhoea. Not to be taken during pregnancy. Increased wind may be experienced in the initial two days of starting the treatment. Consult your medical practitioner if you have any doubt. Should not be taken with hot beverages as it may cause irritation to the digestive tract.
