Meno Clove Forte MenoClove Forte™ Capsules are indicated for post-menopausal women, women who have had a hysterectomy and for women with stubborn menopausal symptoms. Red Clover: (Trifolium Pratense) Red Clover contains phyto oestrogens, a natural plant hormone called isoflavones. Red clover is of the same family as soy, chick peas, beans, lentils, split peas, that is the legume family. Red clover contains 4 isoflavones as opposed to other plants which contain either two or one. How does it work? The isoflavones have an action similar to that of oestrogen as they have a similar molecular structure to oestrogen. The main action of red clover is to block oestrogen cell receptor sites. They are known as S.E.R.M. – selective oestrogen receptor modules. The effective blocking of the receptor sites reduces the cell’s ability to stimulate various organs in the body and hence the reduction of menopausal symptoms. Black Cohosh: (Cimicifuga Racemosa) The most widely studied plant component used to treat menopause, is a standard extract from the black cohosh plant. During menopause the Luteinizing hormone level (L.H.) increases, which is one of the causes of symptoms such as hot flushes, night sweats, headaches and vaginal dryness. Black cohosh reduces the level of L.H., thereby relieving these symptoms. Black cohosh also contains phyto-oestrogens, but is different to other phyto-oestrogens. Studies have confirmed that black cohosh root, can mimic oestrogen in the body. In a study with women under the age of 40 who have had total hysterectomies, black cohosh was proven to provide a dramatic reduction from menopausal symptoms. Black cohosh was also proven to be more effective in treating menopausal depression than diazepam, in a study published in a German medical journal. Black cohosh is approved by the German Ministry of Health for the treatment of menopausal symptoms. The impressive safety record of standardised black cohosh extract makes it is an effective natural alternative to FDA-approved oestrogen drugs. Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) Vitamin B6 is water soluble and excreted within eight hours after ingestion and needs to be replaced by whole foods or supplements. Vitamin B6 is required for maintaining hormone levels, maintaining enzyme functions, the production of red blood cells and antibodies. It also assists the nervous system, the digestive system and maintains skin tone. Vitamin B6 acts as a natural diuretic and assists to increase the strength of connective tissue in bone. Signs of Vitamin B deficiency include irritability, depression and weakness. Vitamin B6 together with black cohosh helps to reduce menopausal symptoms such as depression, anxiety, insomnia and forgetfulness. Dosage: 1 capsule twice a day (morning & evening) Contra Indications and Precautions: Women on blood thinning drugs such as Warfarin and women with hormone related cancer, should seek professional advice before using MenoClove Forte™.
